David Cox reckons it was a no brainer to come to Forfar Athletic as the attacker feels he has played his best football under Gary Bollan.
The 27 year old joined the Loons this summer from Airdrieonians where he played the first half of the season under the manager with Cox delighted to link up again with Bollan.
Speaking after the win over Brora at the weekend, Cox explained that both he and Bollan know exactly what they get from each other.
“I love it so far, I played under Gary at Airdrie and he’s the best manager I’ve played under so he knows what he gets from me and I know what I get from him. It’s good to be here and good to work with the coaching staff as well.”
He continued: “To be honest I probably played my best football last year under him at the start of the season, I started off flying so when he left it was a bit of a gutter but he did say he’d be looking to bring me here. I’m delighted to be here, it looks like a great wee club.”
Cox played the full ninety minutes against Brora, suppling the set piece for Jim Lister’s second and the former Montrose, Annan and Peterhead winger felt it was a decent performance from the team.
“I thought we weren’t as sharp as we played on Tuesday night there but overall it was a decent performance from the boys. It was a hot day so it was difficult for both teams but it was a good wee run out for us and everyone seemed to get a good bit of game time.”
He also believes that the squad are more than capable of recovering from relegation and returning to League One at the first attempt.
“I definitely think so, that’s what the gaffer said the target was, to try and get back up into League One. I think with the boys that they’ve brought in, we’re more than capable of doing that.”
